Raw Pu-erh cake Golden Triangle is a raw pu-erh type tea pressed in a traditional piece of cake weighing 345 grams. Its uniqueness lies in the raw materials used to make it - old tea trees originating from the so-called Golden Triangle (Golden Triangle).
The area of the Golden Triangle is located in south-east Asia, the border of three countries: Laos, Thailand and Cambodia. It is a mountainous region and poor degree of industrialization and infrastructure development. The area of this region, according to various sources, ranges from 150,000 to 500,000 km2, which would also include part of the Chinese province of Yunnan.
In history, the Golden Triangle region was one of the main raw material bases of Yunnan teas, the tea tree species from the strict Golden Triangle area is identical to that of the Yunnan province. The trees from which the leaves are collected are generally over 100 years old, some even over 300 years old, so this type of tea is also called "tea of an old tree". Due to the mountainous nature of the region and poor economic development, these trees are not grown only growing wild. No artificial fertilization is used here, and the lack of industry in the area ensures ecological conditions for plant development.
Pu-erh from an old tree is generally of the raw type. It undergoes a slow fermentation process, which may last even over a dozen years. At different stages, the same tea tastes different, initially more reminiscent of green tea with time acquires an increasingly deeper and more refined aftertaste, deprives the original astringency and leaves a sweet aftertaste. It has a collector's value.
